Built Through Generations
The story of Boambee Angus is built on more than generations of cattle. It's built on the people, the land and the values that have shaped the program over time.
From the fertile flats of the Williams River to the breeding decisions made today, every part of Boambee reflects a commitment to family, integrity and producing Angus cattle with a lasting purpose.
While the program continues to evolve, the principles it was founded on remain unchanged, building for the next generation while honouring those who came before.
Bruce’s Vision
Bruce's vision was never just about cattle. It was about building something lasting for the generations to come.
From the foundations laid along the Williams River to the name Boambee Angus itself, his dream was to create an operation grounded in family, hard work and integrity.
Today, that vision continues to guide every breeding decision, every generation of cattle and every step forward as the family carries the past into the future.
The Women
Behind Boambee
Not every legacy is built through recognition. Some are built through quiet consistency, resilience and a willingness to carry the load when it matters most.
Within the Boambee Angus brand, the Knitting Circle symbol represents the women whose strength has helped shape the family operation over time. That same symbolism is woven through the story of Boambee Angus.
Following Bruce's passing, the women behind Boambee helped carry the operation forward, protecting what had been built while guiding the next generation into place. Their leadership provided stability through change and ensured the values at the heart of the business remained firmly intact.
Their contribution continues to shape Boambee today — a reminder that the strongest legacies are often built quietly, through resilience, consistency and an unwavering commitment to family.
The Program Today
The foundation of the program was built on females acquired from the renowned Witherswood Angus dispersal, complemented by genetics from respected Angus herds including Texas, Ben Nevis, Millah Murrah, Knowla, Premier Angus, Te Mania and Karoo. These bloodlines continue to influence a breeding program focused on structural soundness, fertility, temperament and commercial performance.
Today, Boambee Angus spans 1,620 hectares across four properties, Sinclair's Point, Balickera, Rosehill and Oaklands, and comprises approximately 230 registered stud females alongside 450 commercial breeding females. Extensive pasture improvement and forage cropping support the breeding herd while enabling steers and heifers to be finished on farm.
Every decision within the program is guided by a long-term breeding philosophy. Through disciplined selection and a focus on functional, commercially relevant cattle, Boambee Angus remains committed to breeding genetics that deliver value from generation to generation.
